-The American Revolution (1775-1783):  In this war the 13 British colonies fought for their independence from Great Britain.

-Four Types of Monarchy during Early Modern Age (16th, 17th and 18th century):
    1. Authoritarian Monarchy(16th century): Monarchs in the 16th century are described as authoritarian because they had forced the nobility to accept their authority. However, these monarchs had to respect institutions that were able to limit their authority.
   2. Absolute Monarchy (17th century): Monarchs in the 17th century are described as absolute because they had unlimited authority which was believed to come from God.
   3. Enlightened Despotism(18th century): Its objective was to modernise the country and improve subjects' quality of life combining Absolute Monarchy with some enlightened ideas.
  4. Parlamentarian Monarchy(17th century in England): After the Civil War, in the 1640's between supporters of the king and supporters of Parliament (knownn as Parliamentarians), the Absolute Monarchy was restored but it only lasted until the so-called Glorious Revolution of 1688. It established a monarchy in which the king's powers were limited by Parliament.
